Fnatic CSGO - Counter-Strike : Global Offensive

The team Fnatic is a world leader in multiple games, such as League of Legends, Dota 2, Halo and more. Fnatic's players attend more than 75 events per year, representing Fnatic in over 25 countries. More than 1,200,000 fans on social media follow the team. Hundreds of thousands watch the games on streams and VoDs.
In Europe, the US, India and South America, Fnatic stands as one of the best eSports organizations, whose players have achieved numerous tournament wins. Fnatic also won the ESPORTS Team of the Year Award in 2006 and 2009.
The management around founders Sam and Anne Mathews resides in London, where Fnatic's main office is located.
History
The organization was founded on July 23, 2004 by Sam Mathews with the help of Anne Mathews and Nader Atoui. Fnatic has won the eSports Award Team of The Year in 2006, and 2009. During 2007-2008 Fnatic welcomed Neil Kirk (co-founder TCM Gaming). After playing several years for Fnatic, Patrik "cArn" Sättermon, one of the best CS:1.6 players became the Chief Gaming Officer of Fnatic in 2012. Since 2013, Anne Mathews took over the position of Sam Mathews as the CEO of Fnatic. Sam Mathews still remains as a Chairman in the organisation.

During 2008-09, Fnatic acquired sponsors MSI and SteelSeries. At that point, Fnatic became known as FnaticMSI. Recently, Fnatic and MSI announced the MSI Beat It! tournament. The world's largest Counter Strike: Global Offensive competition. On the first of June, 2011, EIZO started to sponsor Fnatic and is still providing them with monitors. In January 2012, Fnatic took on RaidCall as a sponsor.  However this didn’t mean the end of partnership with MSI, as they continue to provide the organization with laptops, graphics cards, and motherboards. With the new title Sponsor, Fnatic was able to expand their territory into the Korean gaming scene, as they became the first foreign e-sports team to acquire a Professional Gaming House in Seoul, South Korea.  Fnatic and RaidCall quit their collaboration in early 2013 and soon after the online Poker site Winamax was introduced as a new sponsor. In 2013, Alexander Zavoloka, a common face in the Russian e-sports scene, stepped down from the position as the Editor-in-Chief and got replaced by Andreja Mahovic, a former Dota 2 professional.

Here's a video of pub gamers playing Dota 2 6.85b New Custom Game - Haunted Colosseum

Valve releases Haunted Colosseum custom game in-time for Halloween. GIFF!

It seems just yesterday we were spamming "༼ つ _ ༽つ GIFF DIRETIDE", but this year will not require organised riots on social media, instead Valve has delivered us Haunted Colosseum, a new custom-game just in time for Halloween! The game is based around the capturing of five "Control Points", and the longer one has been captured one the more points your team collects. Great Behemoths can also be summoned to fight alongside you.

In order to collect the control point simply walk over it. If your team controls 3 control points or more at any one time then your score will increase more rapidly, with 5,000 points marking the end of the game.

In tribute to the halloween theme of the game you can also lay traps which include; Spike traps, fire traps, venom traps and a swinging pendulum. Certain traps activate regardless of who stepped on them, which could make for some rather entertaining team killing.

Much like in Diretide in 2013 when you hit Roshan he dropped candy, fallen heroes in Haunted Colosseum drop treats, which can be used to restore health, mana or reward you with gold to buy items for your heroes.

Finally in perhaps the spirit of the year beasts we saw introduced as part of the New Bloom update, your team will be able to call upon a "Behemoth" to help you.
If the description is anything to by, it would seem this is perhaps a catch-up mechanic to avoid heavily one sided matches.

"If your enemy scores 1,000 points they will trigger a Milestone, causing powerful Behemoths to appear to defend you. Behemoths are immune to Magical Damage, and have True Sight."

Although the mode looks intriguing and at least themed for the occasion, there is no mention in the official announcement of victories in-game leading to rewards such as in-game cosmetics or items. In other words it seems there may be no items drops.

Although we wouldn't be surprised to see if Valve roll out a tweak to the Fall Major Compendium in honour of the release of the Haunted Colosseum, perhaps allowing Compendium Coins to be used on Colosseum matches or some form of reward for Compendium owners.

http://cdn.dota2.com/apps/dota2/images/badgelevels/bg_02.jpg

There are several ways to earn trophies in Dota 2, from playing matches, to performing various feats, participating in events, and more. All of your trophies now contribute toward increasing your Dota Level, which is the culmination of your accomplishments in Dota.

How It Works

Each trophy contributes a different amount of Trophy Points toward your next Dota level. The conversion is simple: 100 Trophy Points = 1 Dota Level. Trophy Points are awarded whenever a trophy is earned, or is upgraded to a new tier.

Team Secret to attend ESL One at New York Super Week!

Team Secret to attend ESL One at New York Super Week!
We’re excited happy to be able to announce the first team who’ll be attending the biggest Dota 2 event on the East Coast.
ESL One at New York Super Week is going to be the biggest Dota 2 event on the East Coast and a true festival for gamers that will see world's best teams gather at the Madison Square Garden Theater to battle it out for the ESL One championship and their share of the US$250,000 prize pool.
We are thrilled to announce that one of the teams competing on the big stage will be none other than Team Secret. Although the team was only officially revealed a year ago, the roster is made up of a number of experienced players, and they instantly became the team to watch out for.
Widely considered a favorite, Team Secret did not let their fans down at ESL One Frankfurt. They breezed through the playoffs without dropping a single a match, defeating Fnatic and Invictus Gaming along the way. In the grand final, they faced fellow favorite Evil Geniuses, who they defeated 3-1 to claim the ESL One trophy and championship title.
After an amazing performance at ESL One Frankfurt the team headed to The International, where they were once again considered to be among the ranks of the favorites. However, this time they did not live up to expectations, losing to EHOME in the upper bracket and then falling to Virtus.pro in the lower one.
Now Team Secret heads to ESL One at New York Super Week with a new roster and the goal of proving that they are capable of winning the ESL One trophy for the second time in a row.
The team's new lineup is as follows:
  • Jacky "EternalEnVy" Mao
  • Aliwi "w33" Omar
  • Rasmus "MISERY" Filipsen
  • Clement "Puppey" Ivanov
  • Johan "pieliedie" Åström

Reigning TI champions Evil Geniuses are coming to ESL One at New York Super Week!

Reigning TI champions Evil Geniuses are coming to ESL One at New York Super Week!

Evil Geniuses join the lineup of teams heading to New York’s Madison Square Garden Theater.
We are pleased to announce that International champions and ESL One veterans Evil Geniuses are joining the lineup of teams who will be attending ESL One at New York Super Week. The Dota 2 colossus is one of the top favorites to claim the ESL One championship title - will they finally break the ESL One second place curse?

Evil Geniuses came into ESL One Frankfurt 2015 as one of the favorites along with Team Secret, knocking about reigning ESL One New York champions Vici Gaming in the quarterfinals and continuing their journey to the finals by defeating Virtus.pro. Evil Geniuses clashed with Team Secret in the grand final but did not manage to break the curse, getting second place yet again.
Then came The International, and the team's greatest achievement yet. The road to The International championship was not an easy one, with Evil Geniuses losing to the tournament's greatest surprise, Chinese team CDEC, and having to fight for the grand final from the lower bracket against LGD. In the end, the American team prevailed and faced CDEC once again in the final, this time taking the victory and the grand prize.
It's now Evil Geniuses against the world. Can they finally break the ESL One second place curse? Can the other teams stop the TI champions?

Ppd's Clarification About Aui_2000 Being Kicked From EG

Ppd's Clarification About Aui_2000 Being Kicked From EG

Okay so this has gone past the point of meaningless drama and in my opinion seems to be defaming me and my teammates character/brand. So I'm going to set things straight with my incredibly biased opinion.
Aui joined our team mid-January after Zai and Arteezy left after a disappointing Summit 2 and Dotapit result. We knew c9 was replacing 2 players for n0tail and misery but we were almost certain it was bone7 being kicked not aui. Originally we planned on trying out both Sumail and Yawar and finding a way to make that work because of how limited our options were. During the "mid-season" shuffle I lobbied around trying to find replacements and NOBODY was willing to give us a chance. They all viewed us as weak, the 'losers' in the shuffle and wanted nothing to do with us. When I was talking to EE he revealed that they were releasing aui not bone . It was destiny he just kinda fell into our lap. Aui and Zai had next to identical play styles and hero pools so it was the obvious choice. Still feel bad about Yawar but he'll be fine, sometimes you wish you could have more than 5 players on a team but such is life.
Then we won DAC, then we got 2nd at a lot of tournies, lost a MLG, and then we won TI.
This wasn't super surprising as the best thing about our team is confidence. We practiced hard, studied hard, and prepared ourselves mentally for the challenge of a lifetime. When secret lost to both ehome and vp we knew this was our TI for the taking we just had to do it.
Were we the best team? That I can't be sure of but the amount of satisfaction you feel from winning a tournament like DAC or TI is truly a unique and overwhelming experience. For all of this I thank my teammates including aui who worked incredibly hard to achieve a goal and dream of all of ours.
So let's talk about Aui's removal. Starting with some simple pro's and con's.
Pros:
1. Hard worker
2. Dedicated
3. Talented
4. Trustworthy
5. Malleable
6. he's just the nicest guy ever
Cons:
1. Not an effective communicator
2. Often makes mistakes under high pressure
3. Creates a stressful environment
I'll give a bit more info on the cons because let's be honest these are the only things people are going to talk about.
Aui is one of those guys who talks a lot but says very little, if you know anyone like this you'll understand what I'm saying. His ability to communicate effectively just isn't there and even though we worked on it all year long it didn't get much better. A lot of this falls on me for my ability to captain and direct effective coms but it's a lot of work and I wasn't always up for the task.
If you watch our games you'll see most of them turn into a 4 protect 1, but not to farm our carry. Instead we did this to find farm for Aui and have 4 farmed heroes and 1 underfarmed hero(mine) in the mid to late game. Whether this is how dota is played I'm not sure but we were pretty limited in style.
I'm not going to call out specific plays where maybe Aui's nerves got the best of him and I won't pretend it doesn't happen to all of us but it is something that we all have to work on especially aui because his comfort in game directly correlates to his level of play.
To touch on the stressful environment I don't think I have ever been more stressed out in my life than I had been the past 3 months. Hell I'm still stressed out trying to deal with all of this ridiculous backlash. The way aui handles his communication and his play made every game feel like the hardest game we had ever played. That could be on the rest of us but I have a feeling it isn't. Either way something had to change because no amount of winning was worth the stress I was going through. I would spend hours in my head preparing strategy and going through drafts with Sam only to have aui question our strategy as we sat down at the goddamn stage.
Let's also talk about the WB finals before we move on where Aui turned into the most cancerous player aside from CWM I had ever seen with an 18 MILLION DOLLAR TOURNAMENT LEFT TO PLAY. Honestly show some composure and don't whine on your teammates. We lost, learn from it and move on we've both played enough tournies to know how these things work. We literally went though the same exact thing at DAC. (A cancerous WB Rout from Vici into a following  sweep through the lb and the finals) you learn more about yourself from losing and if you can't keep your composure at TI you're useless to me. Our strategy going into the final day was ppd talk more and aui talk less.
The international is by far the most stressful and most difficult tournament to win. It truly defines the kind of a player you are and it took me a TI to realize I no longer wanted to team with Aui.
So part two:
Why Artour and why not kick fear instead?
Artour is a clown but an amazing dota player first and foremost. He generates independent thought, works hard, and is undeniably one of the most dedicated players to the game. Also the way he handles himself just works with our team. Ti4 eg I had the most fun I've ever had with a team and we honestly missed it. This year EG felt so corporate, even though we were friends we weren't REALLY friends. You went to practice or played your matches then you just went your own way.
Side note: I'm pretty sure every team needs a clown to lighten the mood as dota is an insanely stressful experience. This year we hired in Bulba as our coach/jester. Thanks Sam for giving into to peer pressure drinking too much and still be the first one up in the morning watching replays.
Let's talk about old man Fear. This guys honestly THE MOST VALUABLE dota player out there. He can play any hero, any role, and with a little practice he can fit them into any play style. Also let's note that he basically co-captains the team and directs movement, maintains a positive attitude, and makes sure that I do my job as the captain. I know I have what it takes to lead my team to success but occasionally I need a kick in the ass to actually do it and fear is there to have our backs. He tells me to make decisions and enforce them. Without him I'd be half the captain I am today and THAT is why he is irreplaceable.
So that's it lets silence a few rumors and move on with our lives.
1. There's no such thing as a surprise kick, I told aui FIRST on skype via text I asked him if he would be more comfortable talking on call and he declined.
2. Sing sing did absolutely not know anything about aui being booted, he may have made an assumption or guessed but cmon no one talks about roster changes till after you get eliminated from TI for good reason.
3. You actually can't compare this to the niqua thing because he was booted right before to qualifiers and had no opportunity to do something else.
I know I'm an arrogant prick and I accept that but let's not pretend that I don't have my teams best interest at the top of my priorities. Thanks for reading.
